Cambridge Hotel Terms, Conditions, and Privacy Policy

Card Details and Payments
To secure a booking, you must provide valid credit or debit card details. The hotel reserves the right to pre-authorize your card for the cost of the first night’s accommodation. If valid details are not provided, your booking may be cancelled. A 1.8% surcharge applies to all credit card transactions. To avoid this fee, you can pay by cash or NZ EFTPOS.

Bed Split Requests
Please provide 24 hours’ notice for bed splitting requests. Beds cannot be split for same-day arrivals after 10 AM.

Payment Upon Arrival
We operate on a ‘pay on arrival’ basis. For non-refundable rates, the full amount is charged at the time of booking. Guests are required to
settle their bill upon arrival, not departure. Direct bank deposits are not accepted.

Cancellation Policy
Cancellations are accepted until midnight the day before arrival without penalty. Cancellations made on the day of arrival will incur a fee
equal to one night’s accommodation, and any subsequent dates will be cancelled.

Child Policy
Due to our licensed bar, TAB, and gaming room, guests under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Check-In and Check-Out
Check-In:
Available from 2 PM. Early check-in may be allowed if the room is ready, but this is not guaranteed. If not, luggage storage is available.
Check-Out: Check-out is at 10 AM. A late check-out at 11 AM may be available for $20, subject to availability. Unarranged late check-outs will incur a $40 fee.

Luggage Room
The Cambridge Hotel is not responsible for any items lost, stolen, or damaged while in the storage room.

Card Details/Cash Bond
A valid credit or debit card is required at check-in in lieu of a security deposit. A refundable cash bond of $50 for a dorm bed or $100 for a private room may be provided if the guest does not have or does not wish to provide card details. If a cash bond is provided, it will be refunded upon room inspection at check-out. Charges may apply for any damages or smoking in the room.

Identification
Valid photo ID must be presented at check-in. Acceptable forms include:
• New Zealand or International Passport
• New Zealand Driver’s License
• New Zealand 18+ Card

Only physical, unexpired IDs are accepted. Photos, photocopies, notarised or otherwise will not be accepted. Expired IDs will not be accepted.

Hotel Key Cards
Guests are responsible for their key cards. Lost or damaged cards will incur a $20 replacement fee. All key cards must be returned upon check-out.

Room Extensions
To extend your stay, please notify reception and arrange payment before the 10 AM check-out time. Extensions are subject to availability and may incur additional charges.

Occupancy Limits
Guests must not exceed the room’s maximum occupancy. Exceeding this limit may result in extra charges or the immediate removal of all guests without a refund.

Guest Privacy
Our staff will neither confirm nor deny any details about current, past, or future guests without managerial discretion.

Visitor Policy
Visitors must wait in the ground floor reception area. They are not allowed in guest rooms unless accompanied by a registered guest. Staff will not contact guests on behalf of visitors to ensure privacy.

No Smoking Policy
Smoking is strictly prohibited indoors, including fire escape areas, external railing and near windows. Violators will be fined $200 and will be asked to leave without a refund.

Hotel Allocation
In cases of third-party website errors, system issues, or unexpected maintenance, we reserve the right to relocate bookings to a hotel of the same standard. All bookings are subject to availability.

Liability
The registered guest is liable for any charges, damages, or theft from the room. If damages or issues arise after departure, we reserve the right to charge the credit/debit card provided at check-in.

Removal Policy
We reserve the right to remove any guest who violates our policies. The guest will be informed of the time they must vacate the premises
before police involvement.

Damages and Cleaning
Guests are responsible for any damages caused during their stay. We reserve the right to charge for repairs or replacements, including shipping and handling fees. In extreme cases, criminal charges may be pursued. Additional cleaning fees may apply if a room is left in an unacceptable condition.

Tampering with Fire Safety Equipment
Tampering with fire safety equipment will result in a $250 fine and eviction from the hotel. If tampering is discovered after departure, we reserve the right to charge your credit or debit card. Triggering the fire alarm will result in a minimum $1,500 fine to cover the call-out fee from NZ Fire & Rescue Service.

Noise and Party Policy
We enforce a strict No In-Room Party Policy. Loud disturbances or parties will not be tolerated. Violators will be asked to leave without a refund and may incur a disturbance fee. Non-registered visitors are only permitted until 10:30 PM.

Refundable Damage Deposit
A security deposit of NZD 100 for private rooms or NZD 50 for dorm beds is required if no credit/debit card details are provided. The deposit will be refunded upon room inspection at check-out.
